Hello, Jun-ling. I am from the Philippines and is twelve years old. I have read both Falling Leaves and Chinese Cinderella. I cried over your humiliation and heart aches. I like your books. What is the story of your other books? Some people say that you are not the real one who is replying to our messages but a secretary of a sort. Is that true? Thank you for the wonderful books that inspired me.

Hello, Adeline. I am Jane Garcia, a twelve year old in the Philippines. I have read your Falling Leaves and Chinese Cinderella. After I finished reading them, I would reread it over and over again. I was also hurt when your Niang excluded you off her will. Also your ugly childhood and all your miseries and specially when you were in your boarding school in Hong Kong and couldn’t afford a bra. I am thankful to have loving parents. I have a question. Are Lydia, Gregory, Edgar, James and Susan still alive?

I read your book, Chinese Cinderella, last year. When I read it, I am very inspired in your life. Even many hardships had come on you, still you stand up and conquer them. Every part of your story had moral lessons. I wish everyone will be inspired on you….

I just finished your book “Fallling Leaves”. I started it last night and finished it this afternoon. I couldn’t put it down. I too had a similar situation in my family. I was unloved and unwanted by my father, and my mother had other children she loved more than others. My mother and my older sister had a falling out and I tried for many years to get them back together. Near the end of my mother’s life, as she was dying from breast cancer, the sister she had reconciled with wrote her letters every day. In the end, I was completely shunned from the rest of my family due to the things my sister had told my mother in her last months/days. Oh how I wish I had not “Opened the door to salute the thief”, for I was the one who helped them to reconcile and if I had not, things would have been very different. But like you, I wished for peace and love between us only. Your book has brought a lot of undertanding to the situation I experienced, especially when I read the part about all the letters you found from Lydia to Niang. My situation was very much a headless and clueless case, revealing no rhyme or reason for all the pain. Thank you for putting many emotions into words that I couldn’t have expressed. Thank you for writing this book, and for having the courage to press on and excel regardless. I too have done this in my life, and have felt much jealousy from my siblings because of it, but it had to be done and I am better for it. God bless you.
